Position Summary:

1. Be the internal and external scientific resource, supporting Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) & other Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in understanding complex scientific/clinical concepts and product-related data. This will lead to higher levels of awareness and understanding of the science behind new Bausch Health products or new indications for existing products.
2. Be a leading partner to internal cross-functional stakeholders in the Cardio-Metabolic therapeutic area ensuring both the Medical and the Company strategies and tactics are relevant, appropriate, efficient, and compliant.
3. Develop strong relationships with Canadian KOLs, HCPs, researchers, and professional organizations in their therapeutic field.
4. Conduct national KOL mapping and gain medical insights on current market, clinical practice, patient flow, etc.
5. Evaluate research proposals from institutions or individuals, support the development and evaluation of preliminary protocols of Investigator Initiated Studies, and supervise the execution of Investigator Initiated Trials.
6. Provide scientific/strategic support to ongoing post-marketing studies (phase IV, registries, etc.).
7. Support product/disease training for Bausch Health products to internal stakeholders.
8. Conduct scientific presentations for Bausch Health products or disease-related educational sessions.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support national initiatives: educational programs, round tables, regional consult meetings, train-the-trainer sessions, speaker tours, symposia, and conferences.
10. Plan national KOL meetings and consultations, ensure event compliance, obtain internal approvals, and complete documentation.
11. Develop and execute a country medical plan and a national KOL engagement plan aligned with the Medical strategy, with clear timelines, adapting as needed throughout the year.
12. Elaborate innovative Medical Strategic and Tactical plans and ensure their implementation with Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs).
13. Manage the therapeutic area budget, including the full Cardio-Metabolic plan and review MSL tactical plans.
14. Provide proactive scientific, medical, and tactical input into medical and marketing strategies, product positioning, and brand plans.
15. Support the development and review of clinical research programs such as investigator-initiated studies and post-marketing studies.
16. Lead the development and execution of a national/international publication plan for BHC Canadian post-marketing studies.
17. May provide medical/clinical expertise to the business development group by reviewing clinical evidence for potential acquisitions or licensing.
18. Represent the company through presentations to experts, societies, regulatory and reimbursement bodies, and at national/international meetings.
19. Spend time with Canadian KOLs in the field alongside the MSLs.
20. Be part of the Medical Leadership Team (MLT).
21. Support the Director in organizing and planning the agenda for the annual Medical Affairs Meeting.

Qualifications:

1. Based at Laval Head Office.
2. Education: MD, PhD, PharmD.
3. Minimum 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs, with experience in Weight Management (Obesity) and Cardiology considered advantageous.
