SERVICE AREA : Supported Living / Community / Administration Services

WAGE : Unpaid

Kerry’s Place Autism Services values the contributions of student placements. Kerry’s Place will invest in student resources by providing appropriate training and other supports to enhance their role at Kerry’s Place. Student placement involvement will provide students with opportunities to develop and contribute to their communities.

Student Placements will vary based on the service and support area appropriate to their education :

• The Ontario Autism Program
• Community Services and Supports including groups and camps
• Supported Living Services and Supports including assisting with leisure (1 : 1 activities, walks) and community outings (trips, special functions)
• Administration and office duties
• Fundraising, Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology

Expectations of Students :

• Students shall up hold the philosophy, policies and standards of Kerry’s Place Mission, Vision and Values.
• Students shall consider as confidential all information received directly or indirectly about people supported by Kerry’s Place, employees, or other Kerry’s Place students and volunteers.
• Students shall fulfill their commitment to their assigned responsibilities.
• Students shall immediately report any instance of witnessed or suspected abuse to their immediate supervisor, who in turn will follow the Kerry’s Place policy on abuse.
• Students will be held accountable for respecting the rights and freedoms of the people we support.
