Job description

The ideal candidate has experience in building and optimizing big data systems and will work closely with our data engineering team and data analysts to ensure consistency of data delivery and utilization across multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with other data and analytics team members to optimize the company’s data systems and pipeline architecture.
2. Design and build infrastructure for data extraction, preparation, and loading from various sources using technologies such as SQL and AWS services.
3. Develop data and analytics tools to provide deeper insights into the pipeline, enabling critical discoveries related to key performance indicators and customer activity.
4. Continuously seek to improve efficiency across all company data systems.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of AWS services.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis on data and processes to answer business questions and identify improvements.
• Experience working with large, disconnected, or unstructured datasets is a plus.
• Ability to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependencies, and workload management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases; familiarity with AWS Athena is a plus.
• Experience working with Agile Scrum teams.
• Knowledge of tools and technologies including:
• Relational and NoSQL databases.
• Data pipeline/workflow management tools.
• AWS cloud services like EC2, Lakeformation, Glue, RDS, and Redshift.
• Object-oriented or functional scripting languages such as Python.
