Job description

Irving Shipbuilding is one of the most modern shipyards in North America, defined by its pace and appetite for change. Role Overview

As a key member of the IT team, you will have a direct impact on the design and enhancements that ensure the digital experience exceeds expectations. This position collaborates with the Infrastructure Design team to deliver products and solutions, supports and maintains lifecycle services, and satisfies business and operational requirements through industry best practices. The role also involves driving adherence to best practices, standardization, automation, and providing leadership within an agile framework.

Qualifications
  1. Education Required: A university Degree, College Diploma, or Relevant Experience
  2. 8+ Years of Experience in Complex IT Environments (Systems)
  3. Knowledge or Experience in Systems such as Active Directory (AD), Server OS (Windows/Linux), Virtualization, Storage, and Enterprise Backup Services
  4. Knowledge or Experience with Cisco Enterprise Hardware
  5. Knowledge or Experience with Citrix
  6. Sound Understanding of Industry Leading Practices
  7. Attention to Detail (Planning and Prioritization)
  8. Effective communication and comfort interacting with management and leadership
Bonus Qualifications
  1. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Microsoft Certified Azure Expert, Microsoft Certified DevOps Expert
  2. PowerShell
  3. Ansible
  4. Knowledge or Experience in Cloud Platforms such as Azure and Amazon
  5. ITIL Foundations
  6. Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
Responsibilities
  1. Process improvement of infrastructure support processes across all Tiered support levels
  2. Process automation to enhance operational efficiency and repeatability
  3. Provide coaching, mentoring, and share technical knowledge effectively
  4. Lead technical planning, workload estimation, and implementation of products and solutions
  5. Implement and support infrastructure products and solutions
  6. Establish best practices and policies for infrastructure management
  7. Research and recommend improvements on products, services, protocols, and standards
  8. Monitor capacity and performance, recommending enhancements as needed
  9. Participate in an on-call rotation to support customers
  10. Perform system administration tasks to ensure stability of critical business solutions
