Job description

Utz Quality Foods has expanded our Kings Mountain, NC facility and we're looking for experienced Electrical Maintenance Technicians to join our growing team! If you have bagger machine experience and are passionate about troubleshooting and maintaining both electrical and mechanical systems, this is your chance to be part of an exciting, high-tech environment. Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00AM-5:30PM



Responsibilities



  • Take the lead in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, including bagger machines, motors, AC/DC drives, fryers, packaging machines, PLCs, extruders, and more.

  • Coordinate and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment uptime and optimal performance.

  • From schematics to hands-on repairs, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all types of mechanical and electrical systems, including bagger machines, HVAC systems, conveyors, and packaging equipment.

  • Use iPads and maintenance tracking software to log repairs, track equipment history, and keep detailed records for audits.

  • Follow and enforce all food safety, GMP, and OSHA guidelines, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You'll also support the 5S process to ensure best practices in housekeeping.

  • Work closely with maintenance and production teams to ensure issues are quickly addressed, minimizing downtime and optimizing production flow.


Requirements



  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Technician, with a strong focus on troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Experience with bagger machines is required. Familiarity with other production equipment such as fryers, packaging machines, and conveyors is preferred.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled equipment and motor controls.

  • Ability to work with schematics, electrical wiring, and mechanical systems.

  • Must be able to work at heights and lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and solve complex maintenance challenges.

  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Requires knowledge and skills in electrical, mechanical, and electronic applications acquired through 3-5 years of experience.

  • Able to read and work from blueprints, drawings, work orders and electrical schematics.

  • Requires the ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of equipment quickly and independently.

  • Assist to complete production by working in the line as instructed by Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Maintain inventories of tools and supplies.

  • Perform any other duties as required by Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager.

  • Maintain complete plant cleanliness. Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability troubleshooting process related issues.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff and others contacted in the course of the work.

  • Ability to think and work effectively under pressure and accurately complete tasks within established times.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadline.
