Job description

We are looking for a classification analyst who will report to the North America manager, global trade services, and will be responsible for supporting the organization in international trade compliance by providing accurate product classification. The role involves applying efficient controls and corrective actions to maintain best-in-practice compliance practices.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :
  1. Support international trade compliance processes by providing accurate product classification, implementing controls, and corrective actions.
  2. Support BRP product classification across all regions: NA, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.
  3. Provide technical information for government audits and official requests worldwide.
  4. Prepare documentation to support strategic decision-making and compliance with regulatory authorities.
  5. Be part of a team of professionals influencing movement solutions.
KEY DELIVERABLES :
  1. Define, review, and monitor product and material classifications.
  2. Determine classifications for finished goods, parts, accessories, components, and raw materials.
  3. Respond to customs requests such as CF28, CF29 from CBP, CBSA, SAT, and others.
  4. Support directives to ensure compliance with ADD/CVD based on classification, origin, and cases.
  5. Prepare technical Tariff Classification documentation considering end uses and features.
  6. Support regional classification compliance strategies.
  7. Manage compliance factors like origin determination, rules of origin, surtaxes, exclusions, and updates.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, international commerce, or related field.
  2. Understanding of customs environment, distribution, and manufacturing.
  3. 3–5 years experience in customs brokerage with classification expertise.
  4. Expertise in Canadian and US Customs Compliance, HS Classification; Mexico experience is a plus.
  5. Canadian CCS designation is a plus.
  6. Engineering knowledge, especially in automotive and vehicles, is an asset.
  7. Strong understanding of trade compliance terminology.
  8. Self-motivated with high autonomy.
  9. Ability to manage stress and high-volume requests.
  10. Proficiency in Excel; Power BI and SAP-GTS are assets.
  11. Fluent in English and French; Spanish is a plus.
