Responsibilities
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff by performing assigned cleaning duties in apartments, and interior and exterior common areas and amenities.
- Clean public areas and residents’ apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios, windows, floors, furniture, and common areas
- Perform all housekeeping duties including:
Distributing laundered articles and linens
- Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed
- Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- Dusting furniture and equipment
- Polishing metalwork
- Washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
- Performing laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, or hanging resident laundry
- Maintaining resident laundry areas
- Washing windows at reasonable heights as requested
- Keeping utility and storage rooms clean and organized
- Disinfecting and sanitizing equipment and supplies
- Stocking the cleaning cart with supplies
- Emptying wastebaskets and transporting trash to disposal areas
- Working with maintenance to keep trash and dumpster areas clean
- Requesting maintenance work orders for repairs
- Reporting resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly
- Reporting unsafe conditions or maintenance issues to Supervisor
- Performing other duties as needed or assigned
Qualifications
- Successful completion of all company-specified training programs
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as irons, washers & dryers, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc.
- Willingness to work various schedules and shifts as needed
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- Effective communication in English with employees and residents
- General knowledge of sanitation practices
- Strong organization and time management skills
