Inside Technical Sales Engineer

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Inside Technical Sales Engineer to support the Team Leader and collaborate with the product sales team, distribution partners, and end-users. This role involves assisting in the development, sales, distribution, and support of the business's components. The successful candidate will be responsible for various essential duties, such as preparing customer quotes for specialty components, coordinating design specifications, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers to develop design specifications for specialty components.
  • Analyze customer requests and interpret technical drawings and documents.
  • Coordinate with customers and internal teams to finalize design and application issues.
  • Prepare and deliver quotes and sales orders to customers.
  • Monitor and follow up on quotes and sales orders with customers and prospects.
  • Create production schedules in alignment with business requirements and coordinate with relevant teams for design, production, and delivery.
  • Provide technical service, training presentations, and on-site support for the use, operation, and maintenance of the business's components.
  • Record customer quotes and sales orders in the AS400 system and track the order process through delivery.
  • Support the Sales Department in trade shows and contribute to special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated initiative and strong customer service skills.
  • Strong Focus in CNC Machining/Aero Space/Mechanical Engineering
  • 1-2 Years of CNC machining experience is a must have
  • Excellent organizational abilities and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and small team environment.
  • Proficiency in understanding the manufacturing and sales industry, especially the business's product lines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technology discipline, or equivalent training and experience.

and Communication Skills:

  • Effective communication skills in both phone and face-to-face interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Capability to comprehend technical documents, including technical drawings, specifications, and procedure manuals, and provide detailed reports and correspondence.

Mathematical and Reasoning Abilities:

  • Strong mathematical aptitude for high-level concepts and operations.
  • Ability to interpret catalogs, price lists, and technical instructions to make informed decisions, including price setting, under the guidance of the Group Manager.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft spreadsheets, word processing, internet, and email.
  • Familiarity with in-house sales/order applications and systems or willingness to learn.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's License.
