Job summary

WorleyCord is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Estimator to join our Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta office. The role involves leading bid teams, developing estimates, and coordinating with project managers to ensure timely submission of high-quality bids.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of industrial estimating experience, strong knowledge of E&I, and a background in related civil/structural/mechanical work.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an estimator in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of industrial construction within field and mod yard locations.
• Experience in an electrical and instrumentation estimating role with some civil/structural/mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Review all aspects of the RFP documents.
• Lead the project bid team for Electrical and Instrumentation requirements.
• Develop basis of estimate using Lump Sum, Target Price, Unit Rates and create/modify Excel templates.

WorleyCord is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Estimator to work in ourEdmonton or Calgary, Alberta office.

Responsibilities

• Review all aspects of the RFP documents
• Participate in the kickoff meetings with the project team and progressmeeting throughout the bid stages
• Lead the project bid team for all Electrical and Instrumentationrequirements. and be an effective contributor on the project bid team.
• Gather all information for the project team for the development of Proposalbid package
• Liaise with the Project Manager, and Project Controls to present key elementsof the estimate which will influence the development of a bid schedule andproject execution plan that is accurate, achievable, and meets the owner'srequirements
• Develop a basis of estimate - Lump Sum, Target Price, Unit Rates, Create ormodify templates used in Excel to build pricing
• Ensure WBS is adhered to while quantifying work.
• Develop scopes of work for subcontractors and RFP packages
• Coordinate with subcontractors to understand the scope of work
• Research work locations for local subcontractors within the area and buildrelationships
• Support subcontractor technical clarifications during the bid cycle
• Support subcontractor bid evaluations and make recommendations
• Develop clarifications pertaining to WorleyCord work - review subcontractor'sexceptions and exclusions
• Monitor the deadlines of the Bid and identify and resolve areas where thedeadline may be breached
• Coordinate with Project Estimators, subcontractors, vendors, etc. to provideinput in a timely fashion to ensure the bids are completed and delivered tothe Client on time
• Support quantity checks at a summary level for other aspects of the estimate
• Other duties assigned

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an estimator in an industrial environment
• Knowledge of industrial construction within field and mod yard locations
• Experience within an electrical and instrumentation (E&I) estimating rolewith some civil, structural, or mechanical experience within the industrialconstruction industry
• Alberta Industry Trades Certification or
• Engineering or technical background in Electrical & Instrumentation (diplomaor degree, CET, RET, P.Eng) is preferred
• Understand the detail required for the review of a bid package
• Possess proven construction methodologies
• Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivitytools such as: MS Office, NAVIS Works, Adobe Reader
• Experience working with FTP sites and navigation of AutoCAD is preferred
