Job summary

Multimatic in Canada is seeking a chemistry/chemical engineering technologist to oversee electro-coat processes. The role includes starting and stopping e-coat systems, analyzing tank performance, and adjusting chemicals to maintain stable operation.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering technology or equivalent blend of education & manufacturing experience.
• 5 years of work experience in a process related environment such as electro coating or plating, preferably chemical.
• Knowledge of e-coat materials, processes, and process equipment.
• Knowledge of SPC, Gage R&R, Calibrations and Q.O.S. is an asset.
• Ability to make positive recommendations affecting process operations.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare start-up, monitor, and shutdown e-coat waste-water and conveyor systems.
• Conduct analytical analyses on process tanks and adjust paint/chemicals to maintain stability.
• Perform routine process tests on finished parts and ensure specifications.
• Monitor equipment performance and maintain records of key parameters.
• Perform routine maintenance on process equipment and manage waste sludge.
• Monitor chemical and consumable inventories and assist with reports.
