DZ Driver, Emergency Response Services

Job Overview

Our Emergency Response division is looking for a new Emergency Response Operator to join our team! We are looking for skilled, hard-working candidates to respond to various emergency events throughout Ontario and Canada. This position involves grit, determination, and above all the willingness to learn. Due to the specialized nature of this work, we understand that training is a large component of success which is why we measure our candidates on their personality traits, not degrees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to various incidents such as environmental and industrial spills, clandestine laboratory decommissioning, highway incidents, train derailments, and marine operations.
• Participate in job-specific and health & safety training as required.
• Operate in an efficient and safe manner, completing work-related documentation and reporting.
• Follow all established organizational policies and procedures.
• Promote and participate in a work environment free of workplace harassment and violence.
• Report workplace hazards, accidents, or occurrences that may pose a risk to the organization or the safety of oneself or others.
• Adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation.
• Participate in team/staff meetings when required.
• Work in a manner that preserves confidentiality and minimizes risk.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Valid DZ and/or AZ license with a suitable driver's abstract (or willing to obtain within 3 months of employment).
• On-call work availability for emergency response.
• Participate in pre-employment and post-incident drug & alcohol testing.
• Valid certification in First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment).
