Our Emergency Response division is looking for Emergency Response Operators to join our team! We seek skilled, hardworking candidates to respond to various emergency events across Ontario and Canada. If you're interested in community involvement, working outside your comfort zone, and responding to situations often seen on the news, this role is for you. We value highly motivated individuals whom we can invest in. Training is a significant part of success in this specialized work, so we focus on personality traits over degrees. Our team members come from diverse backgrounds, and we aim to develop their existing skills to meet our needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Respond to incidents such as environmental and industrial spills, clandestine laboratory decommissioning, highway incidents involving tractor trailers, accidents, chemical leaks, train derailments involving hazardous chemicals, fires, and site safety planning.
  2. Handle marine operations related to fuel spills, including boom deployment and boat operations.
  3. Respond to weather events like storms, forest fires, and flooding.
  4. Conduct chemical assessments and provide advisory services.
  5. Collaborate with police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada, and other stakeholders.
  6. Manage incidents involving heavy equipment, vacuum trucks, and water blasters.
  7. Participate in job-specific and health & safety training.
  8. Operate equipment efficiently and safely.
  9. Complete documentation and reporting related to work.
  10. Follow organizational policies and procedures.
  11. Promote a workplace free of harassment and violence.
  12. Work safely to avoid endangering oneself or others.
  13. Report hazards, accidents, or other risks.
  14. Adhere to relevant safety, human rights, and employment laws.
  15. Participate in team/staff meetings and maintain confidentiality.
  16. Perform work in a manner that minimizes risk and preserves confidentiality.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
  1. Strong work ethic and motivation.
  2. Willingness to learn and grow.
  3. Honesty, trainability, and growth orientation.
  4. Valid DZ and/or AZ driver’s license with a suitable driving record, or willingness to obtain within three months.
  5. Availability for on-call emergency response work.
  6. Participation in pre-employment and post-incident drug & alcohol testing.
  7. Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain within three months.
