Job summary

NBCC’s Moncton Campus is seeking a dynamic Instructor, Sheet Metal Worker (Apprenticeship) to lead practical training in sheet metal fabrication and related trades. The casual position runs December 2026 to April 2027 and includes classroom and shop instruction, evaluation of student work, and collaboration with industry partners.

Candidates should hold a Journeyperson Red Seal in Sheet Metal Fabrication, bring post-secondary teaching experience in blended formats, and demonstrate

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal (Journeyperson) in Sheet Metal Fabrication.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
• 3 years of related journeyperson experience preferred.
• Post-secondary teaching experience in blended delivery preferred.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking and initiative.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare instructional materials and resources.
• Establish and manage a positive learning environment.
• Instruct and evaluate students.
• Build and sustain professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders.
• Specific instructional areas may include Shop Skills, Safety Practices, Trade Mathematics, Interpret Blueprints, Rigging, Solder and Finish Metals, Layout, Welding, and Communication.
• Integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
