Qualifications

• Education: Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 2–3 years in a kitchen or related role.

Responsibilities

• Determine portions and costs for meals.
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements.
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes.
• Prepare dishes for customers with allergies or intolerances.
• Prepare meals for patients as directed by dietitian or chef.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and food handling.
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
• Manage kitchen operations.
• Estimate ingredients and supplies for meal prep.
• Create new recipes and demonstrate new cooking techniques.
