Practice:

Destrehan Animal Hospital was established in 1989 by Dr. Jack A Moreau. The practice was opened in the small town of Destrehan, LA, and provides care for small animals such as dogs and cats, with occasional rabbits and guinea pigs. Today, after 32 years of service, the practice staff has grown tremendously.

Destrehan Animal Hospital offers many services, including:

1. boarding
2. bathing
3. dental cleaning
4. multiple types of surgery procedures
5. appointments for annuals and sick pets
6. pet travel certificates
7. microchipping
8. nail trims
9. in-house urine and bloodwork
10. x-rays

We strive to provide our clients with the best services. If we cannot fulfill a service, we will refer to the necessary specialist.

Position Purpose:

Come extern with us! Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program aims to provide 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help them be 'practice ready' by their first day in practice.

Externships are typically 2 weeks long, and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed. The length of the externship is flexible, and we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.
