Practice

Destrehan Animal Hospital was established in 1989 by Dr. Jack A Moreau. The practice is located in Destrehan, LA, and provides care for small animals such as dogs and cats, with occasional care for rabbits and guinea pigs. With over 32 years of experience in animal care, the practice staff has grown tremendously.

Destrehan Animal Hospital offers a variety of services, including:

1. boarding
2. bathing
3. dental cleaning
4. multiple types of surgical procedures
5. appointments for annual check-ups and sick pets
6. pet travel certificates
7. microchipping
8. nail trims
9. in-house urine and bloodwork
10. x-rays

Position Purpose

Join us for an externship! Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program aims to provide 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship, ensuring they are 'practice ready' by their first day in practice.

Externships typically last 2 weeks, and Heartland will cover lodging costs if needed. The length of the externship is flexible, and we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.
