Job summary

Target Drywall & Acoustics Ltd. is seeking a drywall installer to measure, cut and install drywall across residential and commercial sites in the Greater Toronto Area. The role requires safe work practices and the ability to read blueprints, with union-based benefits and full-time hours.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of drywalling experience, be able to lift heavy materials, and work on ladders or scaffolding. Collaborative work on construction sites is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in plastering or drywalling.
• Ability to lift heavy materials, work in awkward positions, and work on ladders or scaffolding.
• Ensuring smooth, seamless surfaces for quality control.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, including Working at Heights Training and WHMIS.
• Able to follow instructions and work well with others on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut and install drywall for residential and commercial establishments.
• Affix drywall by using secure metal or wooden studs or joists.
• Cover joints and fill nails, holes and cracks with drywall compound.
• Trim rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints.
• Fit and fasten wallboard or sheetrock into specified position using hand tools, portable power tools or adhesive.
• Cut opening into board for electrical outlets, windows, vents, or fixtures using cutting tools.
• Read blueprints and other specifications to determine method of installation.

Wage: $48.43 per hour (full-time position; 37.5 hours) + benefits in accordance with UNION collective agreement

Location of Work: Various locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Province of Ontario
