Job summary

Marar Drywall Ltd. seeks a drywall installer and finisher for on-site work in Pitt Meadows, BC. You will measure, cut and install drywall sheets, prepare surfaces, and apply coats of compound.

Requirements: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience, secondary school graduation, and English. Permanent, full-time position with overtime; shifts include morning, day and evening.

Environment is dusty and noisy; PPE such as hard hat and steel-toed boots are required. Two vacancies available.

Qualifications

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of drywall installation experience.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • English language ability.
  • Ability to work on-site in dusty/noisy environments.

Responsibilities

  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
  • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces.
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
  • Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts.
