Job summary

Matharu Drywall Ltd. in Surrey, BC is seeking a drywall installer with 2–3 years of experience to join our team at multiple sites. The role requires supervision of colleagues and hands-on drywall installation.

The job is permanent, full-time, located in Surrey with no remote option and a weekly 35-hour schedule at about 39 CAD per hour. Transportation may be provided by the employer.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of drywall experience.
• Ability to work at heights and at various locations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise other workers.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Position and secure sheets to studs or joists.
• Apply joint compound and sand seams.
• Install corner beads and wire mesh as needed.
• Spray textures on walls and ceilings.
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts.
• Work at heights and use scaffolding.

Tasks

• Supervise other workers
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
• Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
• Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
• Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
