Join Our Team as a Taper!

Maxan delivers high quality interior solutions with superior craftsmanship including wall, ceiling, and acoustic systems to the industrial, commercial, and institutional sector. Our company is focused on growth and investing in individuals who are detail-oriented and results driven. We are currently seeking experienced Tapers to join our team in the London Ontario area. This is a full-time position within a fast-paced construction environment, supporting commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.

What You’ll Do

• Apply tape, compound, and finishing materials to drywall joints, corners, and fasteners
• Prepare surfaces for painting and final finishes by sanding and smoothing drywall compound
• Repair imperfections and ensure high-quality finishes that meet project specifications
• Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
• Maintain Maxan quality standards throughout all phases of finishing work
• Work safely using ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms as required
• Ensure personal and site safety is maintained at all times
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Communicate effectively with General Superintendents, Foremen, and crew members
• Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Taper / Drywall Finisher in ICI construction
• Strong knowledge of drywall finishing techniques, materials, and industry best practices
• Experience with hand and power tools used in drywall finishing
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
• Valid Working at Heights certification
• Valid Elevated Work Platform training certificate
• Valid Powder Actuated Tools training certificate
• WHMIS and Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps
• Reliable transportation to various job sites in the London area

Pay rate is based on union classification and the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
