Job summary

City of Red Deer is seeking a Regular Part-Time program support role for the Field House area at the Collicutt Centre. You will assist with recreation programs, camps, child-minding, and climbing-wall activities, while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for participants and staff.

The ideal candidate has Grade 12 or equivalent, NCCP Level 1 Theory Certification or related experience, Intermediate First Aid, and strong customer-service and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• NCCP Level 1 Theory Certification or equivalent recreation experience.
• Intermediate First Aid certification.
• Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, and leadership skills.
• Valid Alberta Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift and work in noisy environments.
• Ability to work under stress and manage conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead recreation programs, camps, child-minding, and climbing wall activities.
• Ensure facilities, equipment, and program areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
• Provide excellent customer service and support participants, staff, and instructors.
• Communicate participant feedback, concerns, and program information effectively.
• Complete administrative tasks, reports, and program evaluations.
• Follow health, safety, and emergency procedures while assisting with other assigned duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor

This position provides direct program support in the Field House area at the Collicutt Centre.

• Support and lead recreation programs, camps, child-minding, and climbing wall activities.

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• NCCP Level 1 Theory Certification or on year experience in a recreation/leisure environment providing program support
• Intermediate First Aid
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Possession of a valid Alberta Driver’s License.
• Commitment to the City’s Cornerstone Values.
• Ability to do minor lifting.
• Ability to work in noisy conditions.
• Ability to work in stressful conditions and deal with conflict situations.

Status:

Regular Part-Time

Remuneration:

$29.14 to $30.68 per hour.

Hours of Work:

60 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Availability required for weekends, evenings, weekdays, early mornings and potential split shifts as business needs are required.
