Job summary

GreenShield Canada (GSC) is seeking a Health System Innovation Analyst to drive pilot programs and partnerships within Canada’s public sector. You will support strategic planning, evidence generation, and scalable care models across mental health, chronic disease, and virtual care.

You will report to the Manager, Health Systems and collaborate with Government, Strategy, and Operations teams to align initiatives with policy priorities and funding opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in consulting, strategy, or PM in the Canadian public sector.
  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Health, Business, or related field.
  • Demonstrated passion for healthcare and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for senior leaders.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

Base Salary: CAD $59,688.00 - 91,109.00

The Analyst, Health System Innovation plays a central role in advancing GreenShield’s strategic ambition as Canada’s leading payor-provider health organization.

The Health System Innovation (HSI) team works to establish GreenShield as a trusted partner to the public system, advancing value-aligned public-private solutions that strengthen system capacity and ensure Canadians can access timely, integrated care in person and virtually.

Within this structure, reporting to the Manager, Health Systems, the Analyst, Health System Innovation supports alignment of our strategy with the broader health ecosystem - government, health authorities, hospitals, local stakeholders—through structured planning, content development, and coordinated sector engagement.

While the Analyst will primarily support the development and execution of innovative pilots and partnerships, they will also contribute across the full Health System Innovation lifecycle, from opportunity assessment and strategic planning, to evidence generation, evaluation, and scale. This role provides a unique opportunity to help shape how GreenShield identifies emerging market opportunities, tests new care models, and translates successful innovations into sustainable solutions that advance both health outcomes and business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Health Innovation & Partnerships

  • Maintain awareness of the Canadian healthcare landscape and support assessment of emerging health system opportunities (focus areas include mental health, chronic disease, virtual care, and pharmacy), including evaluation of strategic alignment, partnership potential, and scalability within GreenShield's payer-provider model
  • Synthesize evidence, jurisdictional insights, and stakeholder input into actionable recommendations that directly inform pilot design, care models, and go-to-market approaches in the public system
  • Develop executive level briefing materials, proposals, and presentations that support public sector engagement, RFP submissions, internal strategic alignment, and partnership pursuits
  • Lead day-to-day engagement with health system partners to advance priority initiatives, and move opportunities from concept through to execution
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across Government & Public Affairs, Strategy, Clinical, Product, and Operations teams to advance proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives, ensuring alignment to policy and funding priorities, stakeholder expectations, and Provider LOB strategic objectives

2) Project Management & Delivery

  • Support end-to-end execution of priority health system innovation initiatives varying in size and complexity, coordinating across internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and timely execution of deliverables
  • Track and actively manage project milestones, risks, and dependencies, escalating issues and proposing solutions to maintain progress across complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Own the development and maintenance of detailed workplans, governance materials, and reporting structures to enable effective program oversight and decision-making
  • Develop clear, compelling presentations, reports, and updates that communicate progress, outcomes, and impact to senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Develop and operationalize evaluation frameworks, including tracking outcomes (clinical, patient, system, economic) to support continuous improvement, and evidence generation for future B2G scale opportunities
  • Support the translation of pilot learnings into recommendations for product development, operational improvements, commercialization opportunities, and broader health system adoption.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum 2 years of experience (including relevant co-ops or internships) in healthcare, preferably with experience in consulting, strategy, or project management in the Canadian public sector.
  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Health, Business, or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for healthcare and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Experience and comfort operating in a complex, fast-moving organizational environment; with an openness to take feedback, grow, and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and facilitation of group consensus and decision making.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and can present complex concepts clearly and effectively to senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social impact and health equity, reflected through volunteer work, extracurricular activities, or personal experiences supporting underserved populations.
Additional Assets:
  • Professional fluency in French is highly desirable.
  • Professional background in government, digital health, pharmacy, or health insurance sectors.
  • Advanced academic training in both health sciences and management disciplines.
  • Clinical experience and/or membership in good standing with a Canadian regulated health profession.
