Responsibilities

Tasks

• Operate buses, school buses, or streetcars to transport passengers.
• Report delays, mechanical problems, and accidents.
• Direct passengers during emergency evacuation procedures.
• Deal with the public.
• Communicate with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers using two-way radio systems.
• Ensure children's safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing streets while buses are stopped.
• Maintain control of student activities during travel to prevent distractions or unsafe behaviors.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all vehicle aspects.

Credentials

• Class 5/5F/G Licence (for cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles)
