About Us

Rapid City Transportation / b Autolux Ltd. has been specializing in non-emergency medical transportation logistics services for over 20 years, supporting all of Ontario, offering professional and courteous door-to-door concierge-style transportation for individuals requiring special care—before, during, and after their transfers.

We are looking for mature individuals who are passionate about helping others and who want to join the RCT team. For more company information, visit our website at – Careers.

Why work at RCT?

  • Drivers are provided with a company vehicle and a company-paid smartphone, with all expenses including insurance, maintenance, and gas during business use covered. Vehicles are late model sedans, minivans, and wheelchair-accessible vans. Smartphones and vehicles stay in the driver’s possession for the duration of employment.
  • Drivers are paid door-to-door, which is inclusive of all travel and wait time to/from passenger trips.
  • Opportunity to support the vulnerable sector and make a real difference in someone’s life.
  • Work in an inclusive culture, with access to management who genuinely care.
  • Participate in recognition programs, service awards, and other celebrations.
  • Transport passengers in wheelchair-accessible side-loading vans, minivans, or sedans to pre-approved destinations safely by following all road safety rules.
  • Drivers typically work Monday to Friday, potentially up to 11 hours/day, with a maximum of 14 hours/day. A typical week could be up to 40 hours ($660/week), with a maximum of 60 hours ($990/week).
  • Weekend trips are available on a voluntary basis for additional hours. Drivers must be comfortable driving during hours past dusk.
  • Focus on providing safe, calm, and reliable transportation using customer service, communication, and defensive driving skills.
  • Assist passengers with their needs, including luggage, entering and exiting the vehicle, seat belts, and other items as required.
  • Communicate in real-time with Dispatch and navigate within company systems daily.

Position Qualifications

  • At least ten (10) years of driving experience with a valid G Driver’s License. Ability to provide a driver's abstract in good standing.
  • Good overall physical health; ability to provide a medical note supporting this. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Preferably a non-smoker due to transporting individuals with medical conditions impacted by scents.
  • Comfortable wearing a protective mask and working with sanitizing products, especially during infectious disease pandemics.
  • Upon employment, able to provide a current police check, including a vulnerable sector search.
  • Valid CPR certificate; the company will pay for renewal during active employment.
  • Ability to drive for long periods depending on the trip.
  • Comfortable navigating an Android smartphone and operating GPS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the regional geographic area and the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to assess and support passengers with physical limitations upon pick-up.
