Job summary

Bison Transport is seeking qualified cross-border drivers to join our Mississauga team. A MELT Class 1/AZ license, US entry eligibility, and Canadian work authorization are required. You will drive on Highway 17 in Ontario year-round and sign a 2-year contract.

Expect 5–10 days on the road at a time with dispatch available 24 days a month, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. We emphasize safety, diversity, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold MELT certified Class 1/AZ license, obtained within the last 6 months.
• Must live within a one-hour commute of our Mississauga Terminal.
• Must be eligible to enter the United States and have the necessary border-crossing documents
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must have held a valid Canadian Class 5/G License for a minimum of 1 year.
• Have had no preventable accidents within the past year.
• Have had no more than two moving violations within the previous two years; this includes speeding, improper moves, seatbelt fines, etc.
• Must be eligible for a FAST card

Responsibilities

• Drive cross-border routes between Canada and the United States.
• On-the-road assignments typically 5 to 10 days at a time.
• Must be available for dispatch 24 days a month including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Sign a 2-year contract and adhere to safety standards.

Program Requirements

This program requires a 2-year commitment to Cross-Border Driving. Candidates must hold a MELT Class 1/AZ license, be eligible to work in Canada and have the necessary documents to enter the U.S.

• Required to drive on Highway 17 in Ontario 12 months a year
• Required to sign a 2-year contract

Hiring Criteria

Applicants must meet all the following hiring criteria:
