Job description

Purpose

Responsible for driving delivery vehicles and/or operating truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites. Adheres to safety and compliance regulations, delivers goods on schedule, and provides professional customer service. Operates vehicles weighing over 26,000 pounds and may tow trailers over 10,000 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Load or assist with loading and securing products inside delivery vehicles.
2. Deliver customer orders to specified sites.
3. Position vehicles for loading/unloading and ensure proper setup.
4. Assist customers with unloading safely and accurately.
5. Protect products and property during delivery.
6. Verify order details, maintain delivery logs, and check items against invoices.
7. Serve as a customer service liaison, addressing concerns and resolving issues.
8. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform safety checks.
9. Use handheld devices (except while driving) for DVIR and HOS compliance.
10. Maintain hours of service logs and perform pre/post trip inspections.
11. Handle credit/product return pickups and paperwork.
12. Operate forklifts or non-motorized equipment for loading/unloading.
13. Follow all safety procedures to prevent injuries and attend safety meetings.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 21+ years old with a valid driver's license and Class A CDL.
• At least 1 year of delivery driving experience; 2 years preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A license and DOT medical card.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to read and speak English.

Work Environment & Physical Activity

Work is performed in a production environment with temperature variations, chemicals, noise, and dust. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 200 pounds with assistance. Tasks may involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling. Must operate delivery vehicles physically (climb into cabs, control controls, etc.).
