Job summary

Kenroc Building Materials Co. Ltd. in Medicine Hat is seeking a Delivery Driver to join the Kenrocteam. You will ensure safe, damage-free deliveries, follow documented procedures, and provide excellent customer service with professionalism.

Key duties include leading on safe material handling, accurate loading, and performing pre-trip inspections, while maintaining knowledge of Kenroc products. A valid Class 5 license with delivery experience and a current driver’s abstract are required.

Qualifications

• GED (Grade 12) required.
• Class 5 driver's license with at least one year of delivery experience.
• Valid Class 5 license with current driver’s abstract within 7 days of application.

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Lead and train Material Handlers in safe material handling.
• Count loads and complete delivery slips to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure trucks meet weight limits and are properly loaded and secured.

• Assist with building truck loads at the warehouse as needed.

Job description

Position Summary

All members of the Kenrocteam will demonstrate respect and ethical conduct, will work safely, provide excellent customer service, and will work with the team to support superior performance in the achievement of both individual and company goals.

Reporting to the Operational Leader, the Delivery Driver is responsible for safe and damage-free deliveries to the proper physical placement, based on delivery documentation, utilizing Company delivery vehicles. Deliveries may require the operation of equipment such as articulated truck mounted booms, forklifts and/or conveyors. A Delivery Driver may be required to operate such equipment providing required licensing, certification or training has been met. As an ambassador of the Company, the delivery driver is required to conduct themself in a professional manner, including a willingness to work collaboratively and respectfully with customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Understands and ensures consistent compliance with company policy, procedures, and safe work practices.

• Provides leadership, direction on safe material handling and required training to Material Handlers.
• Responsible for counting the load and completing delivery slips to ensure the truck load is accurate.
• Ensures truck weight requirements are adhered to and that trucks do not exceed maximum legal axle weights and/or insured GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight)/GVCW (Gross Vehicle Combined Weight) limits. Ensures the weight of the product is distributed evenly and is properly secured.
• Ensures safety protocols and documentation for the full delivery cycle, including equipment as per the Safety Manual are accurately and efficiently completed and filed.
• Conducts pre-trip equipment inspection to ensure safe and efficient operation and submits report to the operational leader to ensure maintenance is performed.
• Completes a jobsite hazard assessment prior to unloading materials for each delivery location.
• Ensures count sheets, sales orders reconciliation and packing slips are accurately and efficiently completed and filed.
• Provides assistance to the operational leader and/or Dispatcher in the preparation and building of truck loads at the warehouse.
• Must have a general understanding of the Company’s products and services.

• Produce quality work and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

• GED (Grade 12)
• Class 5 license with at least one (1) year of delivery experience
