Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB? Join our Horizon Recruitment & Logistics team to provide quality service by coordinating the safe, reliable, and on-schedule transportation of modular buildings, matting, equipment, and other supplies across western Canada.

As a Class 1 Driver, reporting to the Manager, Operations, you will transport groceries and staff across Western Canada. This position is safety sensitive and requires drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment.

Your Work Will Include

• Overseeing cargo handling and securing loads, including equipment preparation and compliance with regulations.
• Operating various trucks over outdoor terrain and all weather conditions.
• Completing pre-trip & post-trip reports; ensuring safety and emergency equipment is functional; and accurately filling out required forms.
• Maintaining effective communication with colleagues.
• Consulting with supervisors and crew regarding operational issues.
• Complying with legislation on safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours, and occupational health and safety.
• Maintaining logs and paperwork as required.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Valid Class 1 Driver’s license.
• 4-5 years winch experience.
• Air Brake endorsement (Z).
• Defensive driving course.
• Lowbed experience.
• Valid H2S and Standard First Aid.
