Job summary

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) invites applications for a Driver I to support laboratory operations. This casual/relief role involves transporting mail, packages, medical supplies, equipment, food, and linen, following established routes and handling ad hoc tasks safely.

You will log mileage, clean vehicles, and report defects as needed. Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent and a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence; prior courier or commercial driving experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's licence.
• Preferred: minimum 1 year as a commercial driver or courier.

Responsibilities

• Transport mail, packages, medical supplies, equipment, food and linen per standards.
• Follow scheduled routes and respond to ad hoc requests safely and promptly.
• Log mileage, perform pre/post-vehicle inspections, report any defects.

Description:

As a Driver I, you will be responsible for transporting a range of products including, but not limited to, mail, packages, medical supplies, equipment, food, and linen, in accordance with established standards, regulations and policies. You will work independently following scheduled routes as well as responding to ad hoc requests in a safe, timely, and courteous manner. You will also perform a series of routine duties such as logging mileage, cleaning vehicles, conducting pre-vehicle and post-vehicle inspections, and reporting any defects or malfunctions to management.
