Job summary

LifeLabs is seeking a Casual (Float) Courier to transport specimens and reports across multiple routes while upholding LifeLabs standards of safety and service. You will be a brand ambassador on the road, ensuring professional interaction with clients and accurate documentation.

You must have a high school diploma, a full valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The role offers 0–20 hours per week with potential night shifts in winter and flexible

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Full valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • 3 years of driving experience with a full license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle some heavy lifting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to follow a set route schedule.
  • Successful completion of LifeLabs Driver Performance Evaluation.
  • Flexible hours and readiness for sudden shift changes.

As a Courier, you will be responsible for transporting specimens, supplies, and reports in an efficient, dependable, punctual, proper, safe, and professional manner. You will also be a LifeLabs brand ambassador on the road, demonstrating the important service LifeLabs provides to the community while maintaining our established reputation.

Status: Casual (Float)

Additional Requirements: This position is a floating role that requires the successful candidate to learn and cover multiple routes as needed. The position offers 0 to 20 hours per week, depending on operational requirements. Candidates must be flexible and available to work night shifts, particularly during the winter months, when coverage needs may increase

Please note: all company vehicles have a Telematics system to monitor driving.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Safely transport specimens in a timely manner to preserve specimen integrity, while ensuring a high level of maturity, customer service, and accountability in various driving conditions, rural or urban areas, during daytime and evening hours.
  • Represent the LifeLabs brand with professionalism and integrity by providing a positive experience at every touch point.
  • Utilize LifeLabs technology to access and complete on-line readings and training, read emails and complete timecards.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by handling all situations with professionalism.
What you will bring to the role:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A full valid driver’s license and clean driver’s record
  • 3 years of driving experience with a full valid license
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver up to 50 pounds: some heavy lifting will be involved.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to work a specified route schedule
  • Requires successful completion of LifeLabs Driver Performance Evaluation.
  • Flexible work hours and availability for sudden shift changes
