Job summary

Water First is seeking a Drinking Water Project Manager & Instructor to lead our internship program and partner collaborations across Canada. The role focuses on project design, delivery, and expanding hands-on water training for Indigenous communities.

You will work closely with Indigenous partners, staff, and Trustees to ensure respectful, impactful outcomes. The position starts November 2026 and offers a weekly hybrid schedule with travel to client sites as needed; remote candidates in

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related environmental, water or wastewater discipline.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of technical project management experience.
• Certification and/or experience in drinking water/wastewater treatment.
• Previous experience in running training workshops and/or leading adult learning sessions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting and management of work plans in collaboration with the Sr. Manager.
• Develop relationships with tribal council partners, community operators and key stakeholders.
• Lead recruitment and hiring for interns, onboard and direct the Local Coordinator.
• Track community partner information, set up project folders, and create the project timeline.
• Provide SME input into the development of water and wastewater trainings.
• Supervise Technical Trainers and Trainers, including planning and performance management.
