Job summary

Kluane Drilling Ltd. in Whitehorse, Yukon, seeks a Driller Assistant to support drilling crews on-site and learn from experienced drillers. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork in a remote work environment.

You will work long shifts with potential overtime, including 28-day remote camp rotations. Accommodation and meals are provided, with opportunities to progress toward driller and participate in health and safety initiatives.

Job description

Employer: Kluane Drilling Ltd.
Position: Driller Assistant
Locations of Work: Whitehorse, Yukon Territory
Experience and skills:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a drill helper.
• Physically fit for physically demanding work: able to lift at least 50 lbs., for 12-hour shifts.
• Able to work in remote camps for up to 28 days, following with 1 week off.
• Honest and reliable with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.

Security and Safety: Drug test- Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol; must be able to pass random drug and alcohol tests.
Certification Requirement:

• Current and valid Standard First Aid with CPR.
• WHMIS Certificate valid.
• A valid driver's license (at least 2 years of experience driving) with a clean driving record.

Wage and Benefits:

• $28/hr, plus overtime, and footage bonus
• High season wage rate $31/hr, plus overtime and footage bonuses (June to September).
• No retention bonuses.
