Job summary

Micol Construction Ltd. in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba is seeking a Draftsperson to transform sketches into detailed construction drawings for commercial, industrial, and agricultural projects.

You’ll work closely with engineers, clients, and project teams to ensure buildable documents from concept to construction. The role requires a diploma or certificate in drafting or related field, plus 3+ years of drafting experience and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of drafting experience in construction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit.
• Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil drawings.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and schematics using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Convert conceptual sketches, engineering designs, and project specifications into accurate technical drawings for commercial, industrial, and agricultural projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, estimators, and site personnel to reflect design and project requirements in construction documents.
• Ensure drawings comply with Manitoba Building Code, regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Review and revise drawings based on project changes, field conditions, and client requests while supporting construction teams.
• Conduct site visits, participate in project meetings, and contribute to project coordination from design through construction.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and schematics using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Convert conceptual sketches, engineering designs, and project specifications into accurate and complete technical drawings for commercial, industrial, and agricultural building projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, estimators, and site personnel to ensure design and project requirements are accurately reflected in construction documents.
• Work collaboratively with the Engineering team to ensure all drawings comply with Manitoba Building Code requirements, applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Review and revise drawings based on project changes, field conditions, client requests, and regulatory requirements while supporting construction teams with drawing-related inquiries.
• Conduct site visits, participate in project meetings, and contribute to project coordination from design through construction.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Diploma or Certificate in Drafting Technology, Architectural Technology, Engineering Design, Civil Technology, or a related field.
• Preference will be given to candidates that hold a Certified Engineering Technologist designation through CTTAM
• Minimum 3 years of drafting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD & Revit)
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, and construction terminology.
• Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil drawings.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.
