Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Drafting/Engineering Design professional to support the Aecon Nuclear project team in Canada.

You will prepare fabrication drawings, 3D models, and quantity calculations for steel and concrete structures while solving as-built conditions with project teams. Ideal candidates bring a Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, strong Autodesk skills, and a solid background in heavy civil construction.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret field data and rough sketches in a fast-paced setting.
• Exceptional attention to detail, specifically pertaining to completeness and accuracy of drawings.
• Self-motivated with the ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fabrication drawings, quantity calculations and 3D models for steel and concrete structures.
• Problem-solve as-built conditions and contribute to solutions with the project teams.
• Report on and participate in continuous improvement of key metrics.
• Prepare drafting plans.
• Provide drafting support for tooling, fabrication templates and inspection.
• Provide clear communication with clients in a professional manner.
• Liaise with design partners, trades supervision and project team members.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
