Drafter

Locations: Pickering or Kincardine
Vacancies: 3 positions
Work Arrangement: On-site, five days per week
Duration: 1 year (extended annually)
Hourly Rate: $70 - $80/hour

Summary

Under broad supervision, prepares drawings and sketches using CAD workstations and appropriate design criteria and technical manuals. Performs layout and design work and utilizes theoretical and practical engineering knowledge. Works closely with engineers to ensure coordination of designs.

Major Duties
  • Performs layout and design work from the data supplied utilizing theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
  • Ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Consults with engineering staff and technicians to ensure compliance with design specifications and has a working understanding of the engineering design process.
  • Applies advanced techniques in CAD and standard design applications utilizing this equipment.
Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent education with a minimum of eight years of related experience, including completed coursework in drafting and CAD.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD workstations for creating 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Knowledge of drafting.
  • Ability to interpret and apply design criteria and technical documentation.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in drawings in compliance with standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
