Job description

We are looking for a Drafter to join our Edmonton facility, Dyna Flo. You will be responsible for organizing, standardizing, and maintaining the company drawing library, as well as developing drawings for the engineering and production teams. This role requires a strong foundation in drafting, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety. A portion of your time will involve developing complete layout and engineering drawings of various components and assemblies based on engineers' and designers' instructions. Additionally, you will update the existing drawing library to incorporate recent GD&T standards. Collaboration with engineers and designers will be essential to ensure model accuracy, design standards, and ECN/ECR documentation.

Responsibilities include:

1. Updating the drawing library to reflect new GD&T requirements.
2. Examining existing drawings for conformity and errors.
3. Consulting with engineers or production specialists to establish drawing requirements.
4. Developing and maintaining standard drafting procedures aligned with the company QC program.
5. Contributing design modifications to facilitate manufacturing and improve product quality.
6. Engaging in and contributing to continuous improvement processes.
7. Preparing detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guides.

What You Bring:

• 3+ years of experience in SolidWorks with proficiency in 2D & 3D modeling.
• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist.
• Experience in industrial product manufacturing is a plus.
• Understanding of control valves, actuation, and instrumentation is preferred.
• Self-motivation, positive attitude, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
