What You Will Do

You will be instrumental in designing 3D models used for construction packages, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes. You will produce detailed drawings and specifications to guide the production team in creating high-quality products. Collaborating closely with engineers and production staff, you'll contribute to process optimization for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness, enhancing overall product quality.

How You Will Do It

  • Create detailed designs for manufacturing air handling units and computer room solutions, ensuring compliance with production requirements and industry standards.
  • Generate precise technical drawings and specifications for tooling using Inventor/Creo software.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and stakeholders to identify design needs and gather feedback.
  • Assist in prototyping by working with manufacturing teams to test and refine assemblies before full-scale production.
  • Review existing designs for efficiency, suggesting improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.
  • Maintain documentation of design processes, revisions, and specifications to ensure traceability and compliance with JCI standards.
  • Create or update bills of materials (BOM) to accurately reflect components and materials.
  • Support team members and perform peer reviews of internal design packages.
  • Engage in continuous improvement by assessing tooling performance and recommending design enhancements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Minimum Requirements

  • College diploma or University degree in mechanical engineering design and drafting technology, or a related field
  • Experience with CAD software and standardized drafting practices
  • Ability to develop accurate manufacturing specifications promptly
  • Proficiency in creating preliminary or conceptual designs
  • Experience supporting mechanical products and assemblies in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Interest in developing technical skills through training
  • Excellent task prioritization and time management abilities
