Job summary

Medcan seeks a qualified Phlebotomist for a full-time position in our downtown Toronto clinic. The role emphasizes precise venipuncture, sample labeling and handling, and delivering high quality client service.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years in phlebotomy, knowledge of lab terminology, and strong communication skills to reassure clients and ensure safe collection and processing of specimens.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited phlebotomy training program.
• MLPAO certified and asset is required.
• Proof of PLI with MLPAO or CSMLS is required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture and capillary punctures) to collect blood samples.
• Identify clients ensuring samples are labeled correctly before testing.
• Process and prepare samples for testing per laboratory standards.
• Maintain safe, organized workflow in clinic and laboratory.
• Document client and sample data in the LIS and ensure privacy.
