Job summary

GardaWorld is hiring a Downtown Commercial Security Guard for a busy downtown Edmonton property. In this full-time role, you will interact daily with tenants, executives, contractors, and visitors, maintaining a professional security presence and delivering concierge-style service.

You will monitor CCTV and access control, conduct patrols, respond to incidents, and coordinate with emergency responders. Alberta Licence is required; strong communication, customer service, and de-escalation skills

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Alberta Security Services Licence is required.
• Previous security experience is an asset.
• Use of Force training is an asset; paid training will be provided.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service abilities.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Strong situational awareness and observational skills.
• Ability to confidently engage with the public.
• Effective conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Available to work up to 12-hour shifts.
• Day or night rotation available.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and visible security presence.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to tenants, visitors, and the public.

• Conduct interior, exterior, perimeter, and parkade patrols.
• Respond to security incidents, fire alarms, access control alarms, and building emergencies.
• Identify and address suspicious activity, safety hazards, and disturbances.
• Apply effective de-escalation techniques in challenging situations.
• Coordinate with emergency responders when required.
• Complete accurate Daily Occurrence Reports and incident reports.
• Maintain professional radio communications.
• Assist with evacuations and emergency response procedures.
• Collaborate closely with building management and site stakeholders.

• Be authorized to work in Canada

Valid Alberta Security Services Licence

Previous security experience is considered an asset

• Use of Force training is an asset; however, paid Use of Force training will be provided to successful candidates selected for this position.
