Donor Engagement Coordinator, Advancement
Job Synopsis
The Donor Engagement Coordinator supports MCC BC’s mission of sharing God’s love through global and local relief, development and peacebuilding by providing excellent supporter care, accurate record management and timely administrative support to the Advancement Team. With a particular focus on monthly donors, new donors, donor appreciation initiatives and donor, volunteer, and church engagement data, this position helps ensure supporters feel welcomed, valued, informed and connected to MCC’s work.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Advancement, the Donor Engagement Coordinator is often a first point of contact for donors and supporters. The role requires a warm, professional, and compassionate approach to responding to inquiries; documenting supporter information with care and integrity; coordinating donor communications and appreciation initiatives; supporting volunteer and church engagement records; and collaborating with colleagues to provide a consistently excellent supporter experience.
As an integral member of the team, this position requires personal alignment with MCC BC’s Christian identity and values, which are rooted in Jesus, the Anabaptist community of faith and the work of reconciliation. The role includes participation in devotionals and prayer within MCC BC, as well as engagement with churches and faith gatherings, and calls for representing MCC and its work with integrity in all settings.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to personal Christian faith and discipleship, active participation in a Christian church or community, and nonviolent peacemaking.
- Two to three years of experience in donor relations, data management, customer service, administration, reception, or a related field. Nonprofit experience is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and the ability to learn donor databases, CRM systems, email platforms, project management tools, and other digital systems.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing donor reports and identifying basic trends.
- Experience processing financial transactions, donations, or other detailed records is an asset.

Employment Requirements
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Satisfactory criminal record check clearance upon hire.
- A valid BC driver’s licence and satisfactory driver’s abstract are preferred.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Work is performed in a busy office environment with high day-to-day variation, including receiving and responding to unanticipated requests from managers, employees and volunteers; and providing support on deadline-driven organizational projects and initiatives. As such, moderate mental stress is expected.
- This position may require up to 100% computer-monitor time and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Key Responsibilities
DONOR CARE & SUPPORTER ENGAGEMENT (40%)
- Serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for donors and supporters by responding promptly and thoughtfully to phone calls, emails, mail and in-person inquiries.
- Provide accurate information about MCC’s programs, campaigns, events, giving opportunities, and donor processes, helping supporters engage with MCC in meaningful ways.
- Contact donors by phone, email, written notes, or digital media to express appreciation for their support, with particular attention to monthly donors and new donors.
- Support donor stewardship and appreciation initiatives that help strengthen relationships, celebrate donor generosity and communicate the impact of giving.
- Respond with care to donor questions, concerns, complaints and requests, escalating sensitive or complex matters to the appropriate team member.
SUPPORTER RECORDS, GIFTS & DATA MANAGEMENT (40%)
- Update supporter information and maintain donor, volunteer and church engagement records with accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Assist in reviewing, correcting, and improving supporter data so that donor, volunteer, and church engagement information is current, complete and useful for fundraising, stewardship, engagement, follow-up and reporting.
- Prepare donor, volunteer and church engagement lists, reports, acknowledgements, correspondence, mailings and other materials related to supporter engagement and campaign effectiveness.
- Provide data management and administrative support for volunteer engagement and church engagement activities, helping colleagues maintain accurate records and follow-up information.
- Follow established procedures for gift processing, privacy, data entry, record keeping and donor communications.
- Assist with data analytics, highlighting key donor insights and trends.
ADVANCEMENT TEAM ADMINISTRATION (15%)
- Collaborate with Advancement Team members and colleagues across MCC BC to ensure supporter information is accurate, processes are efficient and supporters receive timely and helpful service.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for donor events, campaigns, church engagement, volunteer engagement, and Material Resources activities, including preparing materials, maintaining records, and coordinating follow-up as required.
- Assist with administrative tasks, filing, phone coverage, reception support, supplies, meeting coordination and follow-up.
ORGANIZATIONAL PARTICIPATION & CULTURE (5%)
- Participate fully in MCC BC’s organizational life, including meetings, training, devotionals and prayer.
- Model MCC BC’s Christian identity and values in professional conduct and relationships.
- Follow MCC BC policies, safeguarding practices, standards of conduct, and Workplace Health and Safety obligations.
- Contribute to a respectful, safe and accountable organizational culture that prevents and addresses abuse of power.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary Details
- $51,869-$57,632 annually. Placement within this range will be based on qualifications.

Additional Information
This is a full-time, salaried position (37.5 hours per week), operating primarily within general office hours of 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. This role may require extended, after-hours, or holiday hours to participate in organizational events or to support special organizational initiatives, as necessary.
Location Description
This position is located primarily at MCC BC’s Abbotsford head office. Providing support to team members, or to support special organizational initiatives, may require travel to other MCC BC locations, primarily within the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver area.
