Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Alberta seeks a full-time Volunteer Coordinator and Digital Media Strategist to lead the thrift shop volunteer program across four Alberta shops. The Volunteer Coordinator leads MCC Alberta's Volunteer Strategy at the thrift shop, including recruitment and orientation of new Thrift volunteers, and ongoing support, coaching, and training for volunteers in their various roles. This salaried full-time position will interact directly with 80 + volunteers, leading the efforts of volunteer communication and recognition. This leadership role is a balance of administrative and people work. The Volunteer Coordinator will have daily interactions with staff, volunteers, customers, and donors, as well as time at the computer to plan, recruit and process applications, and maintain volunteer records in the database. The digital media strategist works as part of the MCC Alberta Thrift Marketing team. This role is responsible for the creation of digital media for the four Thrift Shops in AB (Taber, Lethbridge, Calgary, Edmonton). This includes but is not limited to videography, editing, delivering files in a format applicable for various mediums. MCC is a charitable organization that partners with churches and community organizations worldwide to walk with people who are disadvantaged. MCC supports activities that provide emergency assistance, reduce poverty, and promote healthy communities, sustainable living and alternatives to violence. As an internationally recognized NGO, MCC currently serves in more than 45 countries with over 475 partners, 1000 staff and 40,000 volunteers. Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada for the duration of their employment. Successful candidates will be required to complete a Police Records Check upon hire.
