Job summary

Better Living Charitable Foundation seeks a Database Coordinator, Philanthropy to lead the foundation database, create campaigns and funds, manage donor identifiers, and perform data entry, reconciliation and reporting.

Reporting to the Vice President, Philanthropy & Communications, this role works cross-functionally with staff, interacts with community donors in person and by phone, and supports fundraising goals from Newmarket and North York.

Qualifications

• Diploma in business admin, data management or equivalent with fundraising experience.
• 2–3 years in non-profit/charitable sector.
• Strong knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising database software.
• Knowledge of tax receipts legislation and fundraising principles.
• Knowledge of accounting processes in a non-profit context.
• Experience with Raisin or similar fundraising platforms is a plus.
• Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within one month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Charitable Foundation database input, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Process financial transactions and issue tax receipts and acknowledgement letters.
• Organize mailing lists for direct mail, events, email distributions and communications.
• Improve database efficiencies and act as main donor data administrator.
• Assist with event website testing and payment processing applications.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate donor information and keep databases current.
• Communicate with volunteers, donors and corporations.
• Generate donor identification, stewardship and recognition reports.
• Produce regular reports for financial reconciliation.
• Serve as point of contact for donor inquiries about donations and tax receipts.
