About The Position

Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)

Work arrangement: Onsite, 5 days per week

Reports To: Manager, Domestic Student Recruitment

Reason for vacancy: New Position

Expected hiring salary range: $50,000- $60,000 annually. Offered salary will be determined through an internal review process.

Primary Purpose

The Domestic Student Recruitment Advisor plays a pivotal role in driving awareness, applications, and enrollments from domestic markets across Ontario and Canada. This relationship-driven position focuses on advising prospective students and their influencers, cultivating partnerships with schools, employers, and community organizations, and delivering events and outreach strategies that move prospects from initial interest to enrollment.

Reporting to the Manager, Domestic Recruitment, the Advisor leverages strong relationship-building, event management, and digital engagement skills to advance UNF’s recruitment objectives while upholding compliance, brand standards, and student-first service.

Responsibilities
  • Advise & Convert
    • Provide accurate and timely guidance on programs, admission requirements, transfer/advanced standing, scholarships, and timelines.
    • Manage a rolling caseload of prospects; deliver personalized follow-up via email, phone, text/WhatsApp, webinars, and other channels to convert leads to applicants and enrollees.
    • Engage parents/guardians and other influencers, offering clear next steps and addressing objections.
  • Develop Markets & Partnerships
    • Build relationships with guidance counsellors, school boards, SHSM leads, employers, and community organizations to drive referrals and info sessions.
    • Identify corporate and community partnership opportunities (e.g., tuition-match info sessions, cohort pilots) and collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement them.
  • Plan and Deliver Events (On-Campus, Off-Campus, Virtual)
    • Lead logistics and execution for open houses, tours, classroom visits, fairs, lunch-and-learns, webinars, and community events.
    • Coordinate student staff/volunteers; ensure event materials, AV, rooms, and travel are prepared; conduct timely post-event follow-up.
  • Execute Digital Outreach
    • Collaborate with Marketing to develop targeted messaging and content tailored to specific audiences (e.g., videos, student spotlights, employer testimonials).
    • Manage and run targeted nurture campaigns aligned with recruitment deadlines and decision milestones.
  • Use Data to Improve Results
    • Maintain accurate CRM records (e.g., Salesforce); provide weekly reports on funnel progress, event ROI, and recommendations for improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with CASL, PIPEDA, and institutional policies while maintaining UNF brand standards.
Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Diploma or Degree required (marketing, sales, business, public relations, communications, or a related field).
  • Demonstrated success in student recruitment/admissions, outreach, sales, business development, account management, or community engagement.
  • Experience planning and executing events.
  • Experience working in higher education is considered an asset.
Competencies
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian secondary/post-secondary system, pathways/transfer credit, and employer upskilling trends.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Skilled in persuasive communication, negotiation, influence, and public speaking.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and logistical coordination skills.
  • Effective objection-handling and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office/Google Suite, and virtual event platforms.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.
  • Valid Ontario G driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including evenings and weekends during peak recruitment seasons.
  • Frequent day travel across Ontario, with periodic overnight and occasional national travel.
  • Lifting and transporting of event materials (approx. 20–30 lbs.).
