Job summary

Tetranex Solutions in Alberta is seeking a full-time Document Controller to support project teams by managing drawings, revisions and distribution across multiple projects.

You will ensure accuracy of title blocks, maintain version control, prepare final documentation packages, and assist with department procedures. The role requires 2+ years in document control, familiarity with engineering documentation, and strong organizational skills; familiarity with McLaren EDMS/Bluebeam is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of document control or document management experience.
  • Experience with engineering or project documentation in engineering/EPCM environments is an asset.
  • Knowledge of document management systems, workflows, metadata, and filing practices.
  • Experience aligning with client standards and document requirements.
  • Understanding of revisions, transmittals, version control, and project closeout.

Position Description

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Document Controller.

Responsibilities:
  • Process drawing and document requests in accordance with internal and client procedures.
  • Perform quality checks on engineering drawings and documents, ensuring accuracy of title blocks and non-technical information.
  • Manage document revisions, transmittals, and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Organize, compile, and distribute work packages in accordance with client specifications.
  • Record, manage, and maintain project documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal project teams, clients, vendors, and other external contacts.
  • Control and manage documents across multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
  • Provide guidance and support to project team members regarding document control standards, procedures, and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized project files.
  • Track incoming and outgoing supplier documentation.
  • Administer interdisciplinary squad checks.
  • Prepare and compile final documentation packages for project handover and closeout.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of departmental procedures and job instructions.
  • Support general project administration activities as required.
  • Utilize client document management systems and other project-specific systems as required.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a document control or document management role.
  • Experience working with engineering or project documentation; experience within an engineering, EPC, or EPCM environment is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of document management systems, document workflows, metadata, document indexing, and filing practices.
  • Experience working with varying client standards, procedures, and document requirements.
  • Understanding of document revisions, transmittals, version control, and project closeout requirements.
  • Experience compiling, organizing, and distributing work packages in accordance with project and client requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly attentive to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing projects, tasks, and requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an interest in improving processes and efficiencies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with McLaren EDMS is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu is considered an asset.
