Job summary

Canada Cartage in Cornwall, ON is seeking a Night Yard Worker to efficiently move trailers and containers within the yard. This role focuses on shunting trailers for loading and unloading, ensuring safe cargo transfer and orderly dock operations.

The position requires physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, attention to detail for freight paperwork, and a commitment to keeping the yard clean and organized during a Sunday-Thursday night shift (11:00pm–7:30am).

Position Summary

Location: Cornwall, ON

Shift: Night - Sunday To Thursday - 11:00pm to 07:30am

Primary responsibility is to efficiently move and relocate trailers and containers within our transportation yard or facility. Duties include performing shunting maneuvers to position trailers for loading and unloading, ensuring the timely and safe transfer of cargo between storage areas and dock doors.

Primary Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Loading/Unloading Trailers
• Ability to lift upto 50lbs unassisted
• Completing necessary paperwork associated with freight & paying attention to detail
• Keeping the dock organized & clean
• Shunting trailers & keeping yard organized & clean
• Dropping trailers & doing local moves (if licensed)
