Job summary

Crown Lift Trucks Canada is hiring Dock and Door Service Technicians to join our growing team. You will travel to customer locations to install, service, and repair dock and door equipment and other industrial building accessories.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and 7–10 years of experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, plus strong customer service and safety practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 7–10 years of prior experience (preferred).
  • Good mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics.
  • Able to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Able to perform Arc welding of mild steel.
  • Must be familiar with tools and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge Microsoft Office programs
  • Good organizational, customer service, communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, service, and maintain all types of dock and door equipment.
  • Schedule and coordinate service in accordance with daily repair schedule.
  • Confer with customer on problems and issues.
  • Perform safety and operational tests.
  • Complete and process necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain vehicle parts inventory levels in compliance with Branch Guidelines. Pick up parts and replenish vehicle’s inventory.
  • Maintain all required Safety Equipment supplied with vehicle.
  • Complete all training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Role

Responsible for driving to customer locations and installing, servicing, and repairing dock and door equipment and other industrial building accessories.

  • Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, service, and maintain all types of dock and door equipment.
  • Schedule and coordinate service in accordance with daily repair schedule.
  • Confer with customer on problems and issues.
  • Perform safety and operational tests.
  • Complete and process necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle parts inventory levels in compliance with Branch Guidelines. Pick up parts and replenish vehicle’s inventory.
  • Maintain all required Safety Equipment supplied with vehicle.
  • Complete all training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to safely operate lift trucks and vehicles/service vehicles
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, bend/stoop/twist, squat, reach below knee level, grip/grasp, work with arm outstretched, and work above chest level
  • Able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs., reach above shoulder level, climb stairs, climb ladders, torque, use vibratory tools, and pinch grip
  • Exposure to varying weather elements

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Seven to ten years of prior experience (preferred)
  • Good mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics
  • Able to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Able to perform Arc welding of mild steel
  • Must be familiar with tools and equipment
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge Microsoft Office programs
