Job description

The District Manager is accountable for promoting and selling Teknion’s full portfolio, including StudioTK and LUUM, within the CALAM territory. This role focuses on achieving sales and profitability goals while maintaining professional relationships with existing clients. You will act as the key link between Teknion and its Dealer Partners—focusing on enabling their success, sharing best practices, and building their expertise in sales, marketing, design, and operations. You will own the full lifecycle of the dealer network, from strategic onboarding to ensuring a healthy, compliant, and high-performing distribution network.

What is this role responsible for?

  • Meeting or exceeding mutually agreed-upon revenue goals across all product categories and market segments.
  • Participating in annual sales forecasts, determining market potential, and managing territory sales expense estimates.
  • Identifying and closing new business opportunities within corporations and government agencies while managing all activities through our CRM (Salesforce/SFDC).
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of Teknion’s guidelines and discounting protocols, ensuring all bids and RFPs are handled with high-level follow-through.
  • Analyzing the market alongside the Regional VP to determine distribution strategies and executing the full pre-boarding and onboarding protocols for new dealers.
  • Building and enhancing business relationships with Dealer Principals through joint business planning, financial targeting, and the creation of yearly marketing calendars.
  • Managing the Dealer @Vantage Program to monitor performance metrics, review scorecards, and facilitate action plans to address any performance gaps.
  • Ensuring that all Teknion tools developed for dealer management (Dealer Management Portal, Dealer Touchpoint MAP, etc.) are fully utilized by partners.
  • Proactively assessing and developing dealer capabilities in areas of product specification, sales strategy, and design to ensure they can effectively respond to complex RFPs.
  • Serving as a product expert to recommend offerings that best address end-user needs while coordinating necessary company resources for mock-ups and product launches.
  • Consulting and collaborating with dealers to support branding and displays in their showrooms, ensuring key products relevant to the local market are properly showcased.
  • Monitoring dealer attendance at training sessions (such as Teknion Live or Propel) and ensuring partners remain compliant with all agreements and training requirements. Provides training to dealers as required.
  • Partnering with internal teams—including Regional Project Managers and Customer Service—to provide an optimal customer experience and resolve escalated issues.
  • Keeping abreast of industry competitors, market trends, and product innovations to provide management with critical market intelligence.
  • Coordinating and managing office and showroom administration to ensure operations are professional and in order at all times.

What skills, experience and education are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • At least three years of sales experience, preferably within the furniture industry.
  • Well‑developed communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a strong emphasis on active listening.
  • Advanced selling skills, including lead generation, account penetration, and a proven ability to close business.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to work independently and achieve results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or CET Designer is an asset but not required.
  • Fluency in English is required; a command of Spanish is considered a very strong asset.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory, including overnight stays.

The expected base salary range for this position will be $90,000.00 - $115,000.00. Final base salary offers will reflect an assessment of the selected candidate's skills, demonstrated competencies, and adherence to our internal pay equity framework.
