Job summary

School District #22 (Vernon) is seeking a District Itinerant School Based Resource Teacher (Elementary/Secondary) for a 1.0 FTE temporary contract. The role starts Oct 26, 2026 and runs through June 26, 2027, with schedule set in consultation with the Supervisor.

Qualifications

Valid BC Teaching Certificate.
Eligibility for membership in BC Teachers Regulation Branch.
Masters in Special Education or PG Diploma in Inclusive Education.
Formal training in Level B assessment.
Five years of successful classroom teaching experience.
Two years in special education, including long-term TOC and IEP development in a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of inclusionary practices and MOE special education criteria.
Experience with behaviour management strategies and learning technologies.

Responsibilities

Case management and diagnostic assessment for students.
Plan, evaluate, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Supervise and direct Certified Education Assistants.
Collaborate with teachers, itinerant specialists, and Provincial Outreach staff.
Support classroom teachers and students in inclusive settings.
