Job summary

New Westminster Schools is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to lead district messaging, media relations, and digital presence. Reporting to the Superintendent, you will craft strategic communications, oversee branding, and coordinate content across websites, social channels, and promotions.

You will manage urgent communications during emergencies, foster community partnerships, and ensure compliance with privacy and copyright policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in management or senior communications.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and web design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications strategy for the district, Board, and schools.
• Manage media relations and external communications efforts.
• Oversee district websites, branding, and content across channels.
• Coordinate proactive and emergency communications and FOI/FIPPA responses.
