Job summary

WSP is seeking a Distribution Line Engineer to design resilient power systems across British Columbia offices. You will work on low- to medium-voltage distribution projects, perform calculations, and prepare design packages while coordinating with clients and teams to ensure safe, compliant, and timely project delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in distribution design (4kV–35kV), familiarity with CSA standards, and experience with PLS-CADD/SPIDAcalc.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering with P.Eng in BC or near final license stage.
5–10 years of distribution line design experience (4kV–35kV).
Experience with overhead/underground distribution systems and utility standards.
Exposure to non-linear powerline design software such as PLS-CADD, SPIDAcalc.
Proficiency with distribution modelling, structure analysis tools, and CAD/drafting interfaces.

Responsibilities

Design overhead and underground power distribution systems for projects from customer connections to large-scale reconfigurations.
Prepare engineering calculations, design packages, equipment sizing, material specifications, and construction documentation.
Apply distribution design software and CSA standards to deliver accurate, compliant designs.
Coordinate with clients, project managers, and internal teams to support delivery, estimates, schedules, bids, and engineering support.
Conduct quality reviews, site visits, and construction-phase support to ensure safety and quality.
Strengthen client relationships and contribute to knowledge sharing and high-quality outcomes.
